Egg cups, sorted on shape.

As mentioned in the first page, the collection is classified in shape order.

The first classification is earthenware/pottery and china/porcelain. This is indicated bij the first figure in the shape number.

Earthenware is 2 and china is 4. The next figure in the shape number tells about the shape of the egg cup.

0 = hanging egg cup

1 = relief at the inside of the cup

2 = relief at the outside of the cup.

3 = relief at the foot.

4 = relief at the neck.

5 = hooked neck

6 = round neck.

The next two figures of the shape number tells more about the relief or combinations:

00 means a round footedge for the shapes 24/25/26 and 44/45/46 and has no meaning for the shapes 20/21/22/23 and 40/41.

01 means a hooked footedge for the shapes 24/25/26 and 44/45/46.

Shape 42 is classified in 0F (fanthasy relief), 0S(scallopped, crenated or hooked top edge). 0D (diagonal relief), 0H (horizontal relief) and 0V (vertical relief)

Shape 43 is classified in: RE( relief at the neck), HO (hooked neck) and RO (round neck)

The next two figures tell about the hight of the egg cup in millimeters.

The dot which follows is for the sake of clearness.

The two latest figures are ment as serial number, for there are more different shapes with the same shape number.

00 is the basket for the single egg cups with the same shape number. Do we have 2 or more egg cups of the same shape, they become a serial number.

If known the coutry, place or producer are mentioned at the serial numbered shapes.
